This design scheme transforms the silo from a closed monolithic structure to an open multi-layered platform. It keeps its unique profile, while integrating the new program to the site.

Unfolding: The Silo is subdivided vertically into three rings of program spaces for the new art center. The middle one, at ground level, is opened up and extended throughout the site. In doing so, a main public space is created at the center called “the Agora” for gathering, performance, exhibition, and rest.

Flow: The scheme borrows the grid of the existing buildings and extends it to the site. The grid is transformed into curves in response to the existing pond, thus defining the landscape and spaces along the silo.
